I'm Still Waiting For You

We can't tie this shredded,
Bright red thread back together... [1]
But as the sands of time rust and fall,
I'm still waiting for you.
The sound of children laughing filled the streets,
Marking the beginning of a ballad --
See, the unrequited feelings I've hidden all this time,
Show a new me, reborn.
Back then, ordinary life seemed so mediocre,
And I longed for something.
Your blurred figure disappears off into the distance.
Our hearts pass each other with nowhere to go,
And become lost.
I felt a bittersweet pain
In the hand that let go of yours,
And I watched a balloon fly far away...
I had come to care for you so much
That after I let you go I regretted it.
When can I embrace the passion I suppress?
Secretly smiling behind my mask,
I lost sight of you.
Your blurred figure disappears off into the distance.
Our hearts pass each other with nowhere to go...
We can't tie this shredded,
Bright red thread back together... [1]
But as the sands of time rust and fall,
I'm still waiting for you.

Also, this song has the same melody (but different arrangement) as "Desire". And both lyrics seem to tell a similar story ("CARNAVAL" might even be a follow up to the events in "Desire"). But that's just my opinion. Feel free to read the lyrics to "Desire" and decide on your own. :)
[1] (from Salinde): It is popular belief that star-crossed/fated lovers are joined by an invisible red thread, which symbolizes their bond.
