Nico Douga/UStream (Video Rips)

Nico Nico Douga (ニコニコ動画), also called "Nico Douga" or simply "Nico Nico", is a Japanese video site. It's similar to YouTube. (^^) Do As Infinity has been giving several LIVE broadcasts on Nico Douga -- and they usually share lots of goodies, including new songs! This page will attempt to collect and archive some of their best Nico Douga moments.

If you want to participate in these events, you'll need a Nico Douga account. You can join for free...but, the registration process is a bit tricky, so please be sure to read this guide.

Also, as of October 2, Do As Infinity now has a UStream account.  This URL will stay the same for ALL future events, and you don't need a UStream account to watch videos! =D

Lastly, as a disclaimer, please note that if these events are ever released on DVD, these files will be taken offline. No copyright infringement is intended by sharing these files.

Nico Douga Event #7: "Countdown Live (Special Encore)"
January 29, 2011

Thanks to lanfix, ANNA, shidosan, and amarissa for help posting this!

On January 29, 2011 (almost one month later), they re-aired Event #4 (the "Countdown Live"). You might remember that this was a holiday concert aired on December 30-31, 2010. You might also remember that a lot of controversy happened during the concert.

Unfortunately, they ALSO managed to screw up the encore: this time, we did see the first part of the concert...but then it faded out, and we only saw part of the encore. (T__T) We only saw one hour of the concert.

They DID manage to show one new thing: after the concert ended, we saw 52 rare, behind-the-scenes photos. The images kept playing over and over again...while they streamed the ENTIRE, FULL-LENGHT "Eight" album!!!

Thankfully, if you put together the videos from Event #7 and Event #4, you'll almost have the full concert. (^^) I already posted these clips in Event #4 (along with details of all the bulls*** that happened), but I'll repost the download links here (Some files are HUGE, so they were split into parts. You'll need to use HJ Split to reassemble them.)[1]:

Part 1 (tracks 1-9, which was about 45 minutes long. Aired later at Event #7.)
Part 2a | 2b (tracks 10-14 - what free members first saw)
Part 3 (Intermission)
Part 4a | 4b | 4c | 4d | 4e (the rest of the concert)
Part 5 ("Eight" preview, with rare photos. Only aired at Event #7)[2]

Nico Douga Event #6: "'Eight' Interview with Do As Infinity + Special Acoustic"
January 18, 2011

They gave a 90-minute interview (in front of a large group of fans) at Tower Records, a music store, and they talked about various things. (Hopefully someday, I'll get it translated.) They also took phone calls from fans, and asked them trivia questions: if they got it right, I believe they won a prize. One of the questions was "what kind of dog do I [Ryo] own"? (xD) The answer was a Boston Terrier.

During the interview, they also mentioned that some of the albums would have a GOLDEN (instead of silver) disc...so be on the lookout. ;)

At the end of the interview, they gave a surprise performance: an acoustic version of "Hand in Hand". It was absolutely beautiful...and you can download it below.

Nico Douga Event #5: "Eight Hours with Do As Infinity"
January 8, 2011

In honor of the "Eight" album (which would be released 11 days later)...on January 8th, they had an 8-hour marathon of Do As Infinity videos. I didn't attend this event...but I believe fans could vote for the videos they wanted to see.

They aired three concerts: "Live in Japan", "FINAL", and "ETERNAL FLAME ~10th Anniversary~"; plus they also showed various PVs.

No downloads are available for this event.

Nico Douga Event #4: "Do As Infinity: Countdown Live"
December 30, 2010

Thanks to lanfix, ANNA, shidosan, and amarissa for help posting this!

This concert was held twice (on December 30, and December 31). Nico Douga members were only allowed to see the first show.

I thought it was GREAT that we'd see another concert. But then I got upset: we soon realized that only premium Nico Douga accounts (ie, those who paid for a subscription) would get to see the WHOLE concert.

The concert was basically split into parts (which you can grab from the links/website listed below. Some files are HUGE, so they were split into parts.

NOTES

(Note: I can't seem to find the notes I'd written about it, so I tried my best to remember what happened.)
Free members saw the following:

*45 minutes of promos. Free members did NOT see "Part 1" of the concert.

*The MC, which was a "Welcome, Nico Douga!" greeting from Van and Ryo.

*
FIVE songs were performed. (Fukai Mori, Hi no Ataru Sakamichi, Shinjitsu no Uta, Hiiragi, Rakuen)

The screen went black. We missed "Part 2", which was an intermission that included a reunion with Kazco (from the original GREAT TOUR BAND). This is what we saw instead:

*They showed at least 9 minutes of video (taken earlier in the concert) of the opening act, Jurian Beat Crisis.

*Do As Infinity finally came back. We saw the last 13 performances, which included MCs/talk and an encore.

*"Part 4" started when the concert ended. They gave another preview of the "Eight" album. But this time, there was a slideshow with about 60, never-before-seen photos!

I learned, during Event #5 (when they showed "flashback" videos) that premium Nico Douga members did see -- and even interacted -- with the concert.

They eventually aired the first half of the concert a month later, on January 29, 2011. And thankfully, a friend of mine managed to capture it this time!

Nico Douga Event #3: "'Eight' Album Preview"
December 14, 2010

On December 14, another Nico Douga event was held. This time, they played long previews (about 1 minute each!) for the entire "Eight" album! While the songs played, the lyrics were also shown on-screen. (^^) The last half of the event was a long, hour-long interview with Do As Infinity! They also gave previews of the "Hand in Hand" PV, and the "LIVE 2010 ~Documentary~".

My friend Yahiko and I were able to capture footage from this event. Use the following links to watch the videos, and listen to audio rips:

Nico Douga Event #2: "Voting for 'Live DVD III'"
December 4, 2010

No downloads are available for this event.

Instead, we were allowed to vote which performances from Event #1 would be placed on a special DVD. You can read this page (click on "05") to learn more.

Nico Douga Event #1
September 29, 2010

DoAs 11th Anniversary (Banner)

Do As Infinity's 11th anniversary was on September 29, 2010. (^^) In honor of the ocassion, they held an 11th anniversary concert at Shibuya AX on September 29, 2010, at 6:30pm. The concert was 100% FREE!!! And they wanted ALL of their fans to attend!

Now of course, Shibuya AX is too small to host 10,000+ people....so they decided to stream the concert online, too. (^_^) Anyone with a membership on Nico Nico Douga could also watch the concert, but you had to log on earlier (between 6:20pm-6:30pm). It was pretty successful; nearly 30,000 people attended (or watched) the concert!

I was one of those 30,000 people! And let me tell you, the concert was AWESOME. ^______^

More!
This is one of their longest concerts ever. It was nearly 2 1/2 hours long. (*____*) It might have more songs (and MCs/dialogue) than their previous concerts, with the exception of the (Not-Really-)Final Live. There were a few more surprises in this concert than other concerts, too: they gave an encore of SIX songs. And of course, there's the surprise that Van is now a blonde...

Core! Rare!

Someone on Nico Douga (in the comments section) jokingly called this concert, "Do The Live: B-Sides". And they were right. Many of these songs might have never (or rarely) been sung live before, such as "Simple Minds", "Faces", "Kokoro no Chizu", "Another", and "Kouzou Kaikaku" (which are also 5 of my favorite songs). Because they're "rare", only their core (or hardcore) fans would probably recognize most of them.

Here!
News about the concert was revealed back in June, but a lot of people sorta forgot about it. (xD) Even I didn't remember until a few days before the concert. People at DAIForum (mainly in this discussion thread) were wondering if they could watch it in time, or if someone would be kind enough to record it.

Well, good news: someone was kind enough to record the concert, and they created both video AND audio rips. (^_^) All of the links are available on the site below, which someone was kind enough to make. ^_^
