Does
Dai Nagao have a nickname?
A lot of times when he creates music, he calls himself
"D.A..I." Most fans, however, just call him "Dai", "Nagao", "Mr.
Nagao", or "Nagao-san".

Other
than Do As Infinity, what artists has Dai Nagao worked with?
Dai Nagao has worked with Ayumi Hamasaki, hitomi, Every
Little Thing, and several other artists. You can learn more in "D.A.I.,
and even get lyrics/MP3 samples for the songs.

What
are some groups/artists that he has produced?
Some groups/artists he's produced include Sayaka Yamamoto (a member of the group "dream"),
I-lulu, ZZ, Amasia Landscape and DAZZ FEED. He also helped produce
moumoon's first two CDs and he helped SE7EN (a Korean artist)
with several of his Japanese songs.

What
is "Area404"?
This is Dai Nagao's music company. Not too much
is known about the company (and
sadly, its official website went offline years ago), but I
think Dai was the executive producer in the company. The company seemed
to be independent (or
"Indies") and not directly related to avex.
I'm pretty sure Area404 did not have its own record label.
Every time I looked at the CD credits page for one of their
artists (as an example,
I'll use I-lulu), I saw a different record company listed (for I-lulu, their record
company was "Get Over The Records"). So I think
Dai Nagao outsourced the actual CD production to different
companies, probably as a way to save money.
In
those same CD credits, Dai was usually listed as the "executive
producer". And he was often listed as the main composer and/or arranger.

Why is
it so hard to find pictures of this guy online?!!
This is a fantastic question. I've heard that in the early
days of Do As Infinity, Dai Nagao wanted to stay out of the spotlight
because he wanted to create music more than anything else (i.e., he left the TV
commercials, interviews, and musical performances to Van and Ryo).
And because of that, you'll rarely find any pictures of him.
However...if you use Google Images (or
more specifically, use Google
Japan Images and enter his Japanese name, 長尾大),
you'll see several nice pictures of him there.

Does
Dai Nagao sing? Has he ever released a CD by himself?
As far as I can tell, no: Dai Nagao has never released a
CD. But according to Jun Harada, he did sing "Yesterday &
Today" ("Y&T") once...
There was a party for the drama series that "Y&T" was being
used in, but Van had to leave early. And naturally, Dai took
her place. (xD) If there's video footage of him singing, it's probably
well-guarded by avex. (^^;) I would LOVE to see it, wouldn't
you?

Can Dai Nagao talk? I've
never heard him talk before!
Since we rarely see this man, it's also rare to hear him
talk. However...thanks to DAIForum user ainouta, you can actually hear
Dai Nagao speak in this clip! (The clip came from "Do The
Box", and was part of a special documentary. The clip also features an
acoustic, street performance version of "Kokoro no Chizu".)

Is he single or married?
No one is really sure, because he's so secretive/mysterious!

Why
the heck is he so secretive/mysterious?!!
I explained part of this in Question #5. Bu he might also
be "secretive" because he's...shady. There was a rumor that he
convinced one of his new artists to sleep with him and several problems
happened as a result. There's speculation that the "new
artist" might be Aria Asia, who joined his Area404 label in 2007 or
2008. You can read the entire article/forum thread here.
Again, this is just a rumor so we don't know if it's true, and I
seriously hope it's not.

Where can I buy Dai Nagao-related
merchandise?
Be warned: since he composes a LOT of songs, he's
"featured" on hundreds of CDs. If you want to buy some of these CDs, I
highly suggest you use the "D.A.I Other Works" section as a guide (plus you can sample the songs
there, and see which ones you like).
There are tons of online stores that sell their
merchandise. But I highly recommend YesAsia
(their prices
are low, their selection is large, and the shipping costs are low for
people outside of Asia). You can also try CDJapan,
Amazon
and iTunes.

Where
can I download [insert song here]?
I highly recommend you buy the CDs (or at least some of them).
You can sample the songs on this site...but because there are so many
songs, I didn't create a download section. Perhaps in the future, I'll
make a download page and rotate the songs each month.
