CD Singles (Page 4)

Please choose a CD single below. New singles are always displayed on the first page.

There are two ways you can sample the songs:

1) HTML: This is the original way I had it set up, where you'll have to manually download and listen to each file. Also, if you hover over the links, you'll see the kanji title of each song.

2) Flash Player: This flash player will let you listen to each sample in REAL TIME. (^^) Occasionally you can choose between different playlists (especially if the CD is a remake/tribute to another artist's work).

Here's a quick summary of how the flash player works (image opens in a new window)

Click on the 'Lyrics' icon to access the lyrics. ALL lyrics will open in ONE popup (i.e.: all of the lyrics share the same popup). This way, you won't have a TON of popups open. Besides, you can't read two lyrics at the same time, right? (^^) But if you want to open the lyrics in more than one window, feel free to right-click the links and choose "Open in New Window".

Lastly, to make the pages load faster, the singles will be split into several pages (hence why I will alternate/color-code the links).

+More Info:
This is moumoon's 13th official CD single. Its DVD has the PV/music video for "Wild Child", as well as the "making of" the PV. This time around, there was no special website for the CD...but the official website did change its colors to match the CD.

All 3 versions have a different collectable sticker (and a different CD cover), and the same tracklist. The only difference is that "CD+DVD" version DOES NOT have the "No Night Land (Medley)" on it...but you're not really missing much. The medley is just snippets of old songs, so it's a bland track.

In fact, if I'm being honest, this entire CD single is a bit...bland. "Wild Child" is a nice, catchy song...but sounds like a stereotypical anime theme song. Which makes sense because it's the opening song to a stereotypical anime called "Yu-Gi-Oh! ZExAL". (Years ago, "Yu-Gi-Oh!" was a somewhat innovative series, but now it's rather this song totally fits the new show. But I digress.) I also don't like "Start it now". It sounds a bit cheesy...almost like it'd fit into an Off-Broadyway show.

And then there's the medley. The medley is just MP3 samples of their entire "No Night Land" album, in order, but they didn't include "good night (studio live recording)". Again, this track would probably appeal to newer fans (or anime fans who want the "Yu-Gi-Oh! ZExAL" CD version)...but to actual fans of moumoon, these medleys are kind of pointless.

This single was disappointing to me. "Wild Child" is a nice song, but very cliche if you watch a lot of anime. That's all there is to say, really.

+More Info:
This is moumoon's 14th official single. The title is written in a "unique" way: usually the word "hanabi" (which means "fireworks") is written as 花火 (FYI: 花 [hana] means "flower"). But they chose to write it as 儚火 (FYI: 儚 [hakana] means "fleeting" or "short-lived"). It was done for creative reasons, sort of like a pun. :P

The DVDs contain the following:

  • DVD #1 - the PV (and behind-the-scenes footage) for "Hanabi"
  • DVD #2 - an entire concert from the FULLMOON LIVE TOUR (which was filmed at NHK Hall; this second DVD is only available in the "CD + 2 DVDs" version)

"Hanabi" was announced in early July (the exact date was July 5), but they first revealed the actual audio (via its PV/music video) on the August 2nd "FULLMOON LIVE" concert. Ever since I heard the song, I've been in love with it. moumoon creates some of the prettiest ballads I've ever heard, and this song is no exception. It's very romantic to hear (and to see, if you watch the PV), and I can imagine someone getting married to it. I wouldn't mind playing it at my own wedding someday

During that same concert on August 2, they also revealed the full audio for "summer time". This song is nice and catchy; nothing too amazing, but cute nonetheless. (^^) It captures the fun aspect of summer, whereas "Hanabi" captures the relaxing and romantic part of it. ^^

And then there's the 2 remixes on this CDS...
...Long story short, THE REMIXES SUCK. As much as I'm getting tired of "Sunshine Girl" and "Chu Chu", even they don't deserve crappy remixes like this. Listen to them for yourself (if you're brave enough), and hear what I mean.

Despite those two HORRIBLE remixes, "Hanabi" is definitely one of my favorite singles by them, and I highl recommend it to everyone.

BANITASU (Vanitas)
(Official CD Single #15; iTunes Japan Exclusive)

+Release Date: October 10, 2012

This is moumoon's 15th official single, and it's kind of a "surprise" song. It was originally revealed on September 24...but only on their Facebook page. It was later announced on their website on October 10...which is the same day it was released!! "Vanitas" was only released on iTunes Japan (which is why there's no official CD cover: instead, a stock image of moumoon was used), and unfortunately there's NO instrumental track. The song will, however, be released on their "PAIN KILLER" album in January 2013.

I really, really like this song. It's a mid-tempo song (in fact, parts of the chorus remind me of "Hallelujah"), and it's quite catchy.
