Collaborations (Page 3)

Collaborations are special songs that usually are done with another artist. They usually aren't available on Missile Innovation's CDs, either. I've listed all of their collaborations below, in chronological order. New collaborations are always displayed on the first page.

Sometimes the entire band will collaborate with an artist; other times, only 1-2 members will do a collaboration. As a result, I've used bold red to indicate who did which collaboration.

There are two ways you can sample the songs:

1) HTML: This is the original way I had it set up, where you'll have to manually download and listen to each file. Also, if you hover over the links, you'll see the kanji title of each song.

2) Flash Player (and Hear all collabs): This flash player will let you listen to each sample in REAL TIME. (^^) Occasionally you can choose between different playlists (especially if the CD is a remake/tribute to another artist's work).

Here's a quick summary of how the flash player works (image opens in a new window)

Click on the 'Lyrics' icon to access the lyrics. ALL lyrics will open in ONE popup (i.e.: all of the lyrics share the same popup). This way, you won't have a TON of popups open. Besides, you can't read two lyrics at the same time, right? (^^) But if you want to open the lyrics in more than one window, feel free to right-click the links and choose "Open in New Window".

Lastly, to make the pages load faster, the collaborations have been split into several pages (hence why I alternated/color-coded the links).

+More Info:
This is an acoustic version of her first hit song, "Sakuranbo". (^^) I'm not sure why it's called a "Studio Live". Maybe Ai performed it on a TV show, or at an avex office party or something? I don't know. (xD) Either way, Ryo played the guitar in this song.

I've also posted the original version of the song (which Ryo is NOT involved with!!), so you can compare both versions. Also, please note that the original version is on several Ai Otsuka CDs, so I posted the CD it first appeared on. (:

Unfortunately, I don't know much about the song (or the artist), but according to Map of the Heart, "OVER DRIVE" was only released on CD single. And oddly enough, the CD single has no karaoke tracks, so there are 4 regular songs on it.

And, according to this page (on tearbridge record's website), Kunio Tago has also composed music for Every Little Thing and hitomi (who are both featured on "D.A.I.'s Other Works"; Dai Nagao composed for them as well).

In fact, it turns out that "OVER DRIVE" has the same melody as "Love me darling", one of hitomi's songs (which Kunio also composed, back in 2000). Both songs have the same melody, but a different tempo/arrangment/lyrics. (^^) I'm not sure if hitomi's lyrics are a "response" to Kunio's lyrics, but when both lyrics are translated, I'll let you know. =)

Lastly, here's a cool bit of trivia: hitomi's "LOVE LIFE" came out almost exactly 3 years before Ai Otsuka's "Sakuranbo" single. =D

This is the second Ai Otsuka song that Ryo worked on. (^^) It's important to note that Ryo only played the guitar solo in this song (which is played from 2:44-2:59). A guy named "Ikoman" does the rest of the guitar work.

Another thing to note is that there are FOUR versions of this CD. (>_<;) Researching this CD didn't frustrate me nearly as much as "NEED YOUR LOVE" did, but still...WHY are there four versions? -_-

Anyway...from what I've learned, there are four versions -- but only THREE CD covers. The "CD+Photobook" combos share the exact same cover, but the CD (and CD+DVD) versions have their own distinct cover. ^^

Lastly, here's a cool bit of trivia: this album came out almost exactly 2 years after Ai Otsuka's "Sakuranbo" single, and 5 years after hitomi's "LOVE LIFE" album. =D

14) BLOOD on FIRE [Live Version]
Missile Innovation

CD+DVD/CD cover CD Only
Hurricane Lily, Boston Mary
(CD Single - 3 tracks)

+Produced by: avex trax
+Catalogue #: AVCD-30949 [CD + DVD], AVCD-30950 [CD Only]
+Release Date: May 31, 2006

+More Info:
Missile Innovation only did the live version of this song. It was recorded from AAA's "1st Attack -Round 2-" concert, which took place at Shibuya-AX sometime in 2006. I think that Missile Innovation played ALL of the songs at that concert, but only a few songs were turned into "official MP3s" and released on CD singles.

At first glance, you might think both covers of this CD are the same. But the difference is the CD+DVD cover "zooms in" more, so you can see the group better. Plus, the guy in the white shirt has a different pose on each cover. You can compare a larger version of the covers yourself on this page of their official site.

I've also posted the original version of the song (which Missile Innovation is NOT involved with!!), so you can compare both versions. You might be amazed to hear that AAA sounds almost the exact same when they sing live. (o.o) In the live version, you will occasionally hear them go off-key (or breathe/pant), so you know it's live...but still...they sound almost exactly the same. Which of course means that these kids really can sing. =)

Also, please note that the original version of "BLOOD on FIRE" is on several CDs, so I posted the CD it first appeared on. (:
